Content Policy
Last updated: November 5, 2026 · In effect from: November 12, 2026
This policy covers what you post to Hwip channels, where your posts reach other people. It is part of the Terms of Service. A Korean version with the same content is at /ko/policy/content.
What is not allowed
- Content that is illegal where you or your subscribers are, including sexual content involving minors, which I report to the authorities.
- Sexual or pornographic content, or graphic violence.
- Harassment, threats, hate speech, or content that encourages self-harm or violence.
- Other people's personal information without their consent, or content that defames someone.
- Content that infringes copyright, trademarks or other rights.
- Spam, scams, phishing, malware, or links to them.
- Pretending to be someone else, or a channel made to mislead.
Reporting
In the apps and the web console, open the channel or post and choose Report. It writes an email to support@hwip.app with the channel and post filled in; say what is wrong. You can also write to support@hwip.app directly. Someone whose rights a post infringes (for example their privacy or reputation) can ask for it to be removed the same way.
I look at every report, normally within 24 hours, and tell the reporter what I did.
What I do
Depending on how serious it is, I remove the post, remove the channel, or limit or suspend the owner's account, as the Terms of Service describe. For a request about someone's rights where it is unclear who is right, I may hide the post for up to 30 days while it is resolved. The owner is told and can object by email.
Most content in Hwip is encrypted and I cannot read it. Channel posts are not encrypted, which is how they can be reviewed when reported.
Stopping what you see
You only see a channel you chose to follow. To stop seeing it, leave the channel; you can also turn its notifications off. A channel owner can remove a subscriber.
